In today’s English lesson we looked at a Success Criteria for rhyming.

A rhyme must have:

  • have the same sounds
  • don’t make words up
  • have the same pattern
  • use different spellings (homophones)

Here is our very own poem following these rules:

Our Class

There was a boy called Niall

Who went to Mundy School

The journey took a while

So he was late

There was a boy called Theo

Who was at the park

He saw his good friend Leo

Then they played football

There was a girl called Gracie

Who liked to play and laugh

She had a good friend called Macey

Who had a bow in her hair.

Can you think of your own poem using these rules?
