We took 3 Teams to compete in last week’s AVSSP Heanor Year 3/4 Handball Competition and one of them became Handball Champions of Heanor!

The competition was held at Heanor William Gregg Leisure Centre and was ran by the Amber Valley School Sport Partnership (AVSSP) with help from the talented Sports Leaders from Heanor Gate Science College Years 10 & 11.

We are proud to have had more children, 29, and more teams at the competition than any other school. All of the children represented Mundy exceptionally well and have all done Mundy Junior School proud. Most importantly the children enjoyed the competition and have gained great experiences at the same time, they should all be extremely proud of themselves. With this being a Year 3/4 Competition there were lots of children getting the opportunity to wear the maroon of Mundy Junior School in a Sporting Competition for the first time and there was a lot of talent on show across our 3 teams with each of the children showing just how amazing they are.

A big thank you to all the parents that were able to come down and support the children and school.

Well done to all the schools and children that took part and a big thank you to all at AVSSP for another fantastic Sporting Event and to Heanor Gate Science College’s Sports Leaders for officiating the games amazingly well.
