Our Boccia Team went to the recent Boccia Plus competition and became Amber Valley Boccia Champions for the first time in the school’s history!
Boccia is a seated game involving two teams trying to throw their coloured balls closest to the white jack. It is very similar to bowls with the team closest to the jack winning.
The competition was held at Alfreton Leisure Centre and was ran by the Amber Valley School Sport Partnership (AVSSP).
We have been participating in the Boccia Plus competition for a number of years but this is the first year we have won it.
All of our 6 children that took part represented the school incredibly well and have all done Mundy Junior School proud. Most importantly the children enjoyed the competition and have gained great experiences at the same time, they should all be proud of themselves and they now claim a part of Mundy Junior School Sporting History by becoming the school’s first ever Boccia champions.
A big thank you to all the parents that came to support the children and school.
Well done to all the schools and children that took part and a big thank you to all at AVSSP for another fantastic Sporting Event.
