The Mundy Junior School Golf Team competed in the recent AVSSP Golf Competition and became Amber Valley Golf Champions for the first time in the school’s history!

We took 3 teams of 6 children to the event. The teams were then split into 2 groups of 3, with the children in each group taking turns to hit their ball. As with Golf at all levels the aim of the game was to hit your ball into the hole in as few a shots as possible. There were 9 holes on the course and the half of each team which weren’t out on the course had lessons on their swing and their drive.

The competition was held at Ormonde Fields Golf Club and was organised by the Amber Valley School Sport Partnership (AVSSP).

All 3 of our teams came in the Top 6 in the whole of Amber Valley and with one of our teams scoring an incredible total score of 93 we became Amber Valley Golf Champions for the first time in what is only the 2nd year of the competitions existence.

All 18 of our children that took part represented the school incredibly well and have all done Mundy Junior School proud. Most importantly the children enjoyed the competition and have gained great and new experiences at the same time, they should all be proud of themselves.

A big thank you to all the parents that came to support the children and school.

Well done to all the schools and children that took part and a big thank you to Ormonde Fields Golf Club and to all at AVSSP for another fantastic Sporting Event.
