The Mundy Junior School Cycling Team competed in the recent Amber Valley Cycling Competition.

We took a team of 6 children to the event, 3 boys and 3 girls. The competition was split into 2 parts; A whole team relay race and an Italian Pursuit. The Italian Pursuit involves all 6 team members riding in single file around a circular track. After 1 lap the rider at the front comes off, after the 2nd lap the next rider comes off etc.

The competition was held at Kilburn Junior School and was organised by the Amber Valley School Sport Partnership (AVSSP).

Our Team came 5th out of the whole of Amber Valley but actually there were only 3 schools that took part in the Competition (2 of them bringing 2 teams) but there were only 3 schools there meaning arguably we’re actually the 3rd best Cycling school in Amber Valley.

All 6 of our children that took part represented the school incredibly well and have all done Mundy Junior School proud. Most importantly the children enjoyed the competition and have gained great experiences at the same time, they should all be proud of themselves.

A big thank you to all the parents that came to support the children and school.

Well done to all the schools and children that took part and a big thank you to all at AVSSP for another fantastic Sporting Event.
