At Mundy Junior School Our Breakfast Club runs every day during term time 7.30am-8.50am. It is free and you do not need to book a place. As a school we recognise the importance of children being ready for learning and families supported by increasing the opportunities and ability to improve their economic well-being. The main driver for breakfast clubs is the benefit to children and their families – improved learning, attendance and behaviour at school, punctuality, healthy eating, social development, and fun through play.
The service we provide mirrors our visions, values and aims and focusses on raising standards and outcomes and improving the life long well-being of our pupils. The service respects the financial circumstances of our customers and ensures access and opportunity for all through our Pupil Premium funding without prejudice.
As a result of Breakfast Club we see a marked increase in pupil achievement as well as class audits of children’s access to breakfast and the impact on the children’s capability to absorb and interact with learning. We seek to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment to allow time for pupils to prepare for their academic day ahead, opportunity to become part of the school in an un-academic environment encouraging trust, friendship, self-worth and self-esteem. By relieving the pressure and burden of work commitments of all families we feel this is a way of outreaching to our parents to support and nurture beyond the classroom.
Entry to Breakfast Club starts at 7.30am and ends at 7.45am (please note that children cannot be admitted after 7.45am due to the office being closed)
The AVSSP team, who along side a member of staff, run the breakfast club.
