Would you like to know more about what your child learns in school?  Would you like to find out about the different areas of the Curriculum and how we learn and progress through them?  Would you like to know what each subject looks like in each year group? And, would you like to just meet the teachers and have some fun?

Well if so, please do come along to our Curriculum Information Evening being held around school tomorrow night – Wednesday 13th September from 4 to 6pm 😊  Please do just drop by between those times.  We look forward to seeing you all there.

The Mundy CE Junior School Team

Due to the current temperatures we are experiencing at the moment, instead of cancelling, we have taken the decision that the children's theatre visit will take place at St Lawrence Church (the coolest building in Heanor at the moment as opposed to the school  hall). Children will be walking up to Church and back (pick up as normal from school) with our staff for this exciting performance (remember to ask them what it is all about this evening!). Please contact the office if you need any further information.

This event will take place outdoors. Just a reminder that all children need to be in their school uniform for the graduation. Please can we ask parents that you only take photos of your own child, and can we politely request that you do not film the ceremony, this is due to strict GDPR restrictions which keep all our children safe. YEARS 3,4 AND 5 TRIP TO YORKSHIRE WILDLIFE PARK JULY 6TH

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS JUNE - JULY 2023

GREEN GATE ENTRY AND DISMISSAL

Due to a technical issue the EXTERNAL GREEN GATE (Beech Walk) will not be in use until further notice. This is both for Drop Off in the morning and for Pick Up in the evening. Instead ALL children will enter and exit via the main school PEDESTRIAN GATE (please avoid using the vehicle gate). The Green Pod (Willow and Sycamore) children will still be brought to the internal Green Gate in the evening (and will enter here in the morning), if they are not walkers, they can be collected by parents and carers from the Internal Green Gate (please wait for your child on the path towards the poly tunnel and raised beds, to avoid congestion near the main entrance).

Year 5 arrangements for SATs week.

Whilst the Year 6 children are working hard for their SATs this coming week, Year 5 have a few modified arrangements and activities as follows: PE kits will be required on Wednesday and Thursday this week and then on Friday something to garden in! The Green Gate will not be open in the mornings this week, so all children will enter via the main 'School Entrance', but Green Pod (Willow and Sycamore) will leave school as normal via the 'Green Gate' (Beech Walk).

DINNER MONEY PRICE INCREASE

Please remember that dinner money has increased this week to £2.30 per day or £11.50 for the week. Remember your child does not need to have dinners all week.

The P.T.A will be hosting an Autumn Fayre on Wednesday 23rd November, 6:00-7:30 and to make it as exciting as possible, we are asking for your help. We are asking for classroom donations to bump our stalls up.

We are asking if each class could donate particular items and help host their class stall, in their pod area-

Please do not feel you can't donate to any stall, we are very grateful for any donations :-)

Here are the Class themes..........

Ash Class:  Teddy Tombola.

We are asking you to donate as many teddies and soft toys as possible. Who doesn’t love a Teddy Tombola?

Beech Class: Bottle Stall

Your challenge is to bring in as may bottles as you can. They can contain pop, water, washing up liquid etc. please make sure any consumables are in date, though (non-alcoholic as we want this to be child friendly!).

Elm Class: Guess Sweets in the Jar and the Lollipop Game

We would like to have some guess ‘How Many Sweets in the Jar’ games - so it would be brilliant if we could fill a few jars, don’t you think? and would you like to help fill our lollipop board with as many lollies as possible so we can have a bundle of fun!

Oak Class: Jar Tombola

Please Could you bring as many jars as possible? They could contain anything beads, sweets, jam or even little toys. We do ask that all edibles are in date.

Sycamore Class: We would love you to bring in lots of tombola items. This is a very popular stall so many prizes are needed please!

Willow Class: Chocolate Tombola

No fayre would be complete without a Chocolate Tombola stall! As many prizes as possible would be greatly appreciated as this is the stall that always sells out first! Go on empty your cupboards!

Finally, we are hoping to sell refreshments so any cakes or treats for this stall would be great, too.

We really appreciate your help in this as without your kindness and generosity, we wouldn’t be able to do it.

We look forward to seeing you there,

The Mundy P.T.A.

SAFE PARKING

Please can we ask that you take extra care when dropping your children off and picking them up at the beginning and end of the day. We have noticed that a number of cars are parking close to the school and across neighbours' drives, which are causing obstructions and making it unsafe for our children to cross. Please try to park away from the school entrance and keep the congestion to minimum to avoid accidents.

CHILDREN IN NEED!

Next Friday, 18th November is a SPOTacular Children in Need Fundraising Fun Day at Mundy C of E Junior School.
