Uniform at Mundy CE Junior School

NAMING UNIFORM AND UNIFORM PROTOCOL
Please can we ask that you check that your child's uniform (including PE kit, trainers and swimming kit) is NAMED. This helps us to re-unite children with their clothing and reduces the upset of lost property. Please can we also remind you of the school uniform code: We would like to draw your attention to shorts, whether PE or Uniform, we ask that they are of an appropriate length (just above the knee) - short cycling shorts do not form part of our uniform code.

The school uniform code:
- A maroon sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece
- A white shirt/polo shirt.
- Grey or black trousers.
- Grey or black skirt or tunic. (summer: Gingham Pinafore or dress in red/burgundy)
- Grey or black uniform shorts (not sports shorts unless a PE day)
- White or black socks.
- Grey or black tights.
- Black shoes.
- All items of clothing should be clearly labelled.
For health and safety reasons, we ask that children do not wear jewellery to school. A simple wristwatch may be worn, provided it cannot access the internet, make calls, take photographs, or perform other smartwatch functions and also small stud earrings.
- If your child is planning to have their ears pierced, we recommend this takes place during the summer holidays, as earrings must be removed for PE and swimming activities. We kindly ask parents and carers to remove earrings before their child comes to school on these days.
- Nail varnish, temporary tattoos, and hair colouring products should not be worn during school hours.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a safe and appropriate learning environment for all pupils.
Uniform can be ordered through school.
For P.E. lessons, children should:
- Come to school dressed in weather appropriate school P.E kit.
- School PE kit comprises; black or navy shorts (or plain black or navy leggings or joggers in the cooler months) and a white T-shirt.
- Remove stud earrings and/or wrist watches and give them to a teacher.
- School cannot be held responsible for the safe keeping of these items.
- on After School Club days PE kit is to be brought into school to be changed into
- Children without suitable clothing are not allowed to do P.E.
- Heavy boots are not suitable for P.E.
We have been advised by Heanor William Gregg Leisure that for swimming children require:
- Up to mid-length shorts for boys (No board shorts).
- Full swimming costume for girls.
- Hair tied back.
- Remove stud earrings and/or wrist watches and give them to a teacher.
- Children who require an inhaler must have this them to take part.
School stores a limited amount of uniform for parents to purchase but a termly order can be placed.
