During the course of each academic year, a range of writing assessments take place in each year group, depending on the current topic they are studying.

These pieces of writing are used as a 'writing portfolio' for the Teachers to use to assess the children's writing skills. A collection of writing is used, as assessments based on just one piece of writing do not demonstrate a child's full writing abilities.

Each year group has a writing assessment grid that the Teachers tick when assessing each piece of writing.
