Intent: 

Our aim is to develop the confidence and interest of our pupils as they embrace and learn about cultures from around the world. We want them to welcome the possibilities that their future can hold and build a desire to explore the world.  

Implementation: 

All children will have access to high quality language lessons, that incorporate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Differentiated resources will be provided to support children through their learning journey. Lessons will be planned which are fun and engaging and language skills will be integrated into the day to day running of the school, for example, through the register.  

Impact: 

Children will build on previous knowledge throughout their education, revising, recalling and reusing learnt words in an increasingly complicated context. Conversational skills will develop, and children will demonstrate confidence in, listening, reading, speaking and understanding a foreign language.
