NOTE for our YEAR 4s

The Government’s Year 4 Multiplication Check (MTC) is in mid-June.

It would be really helpful if children could practise their timestables /and/ for Parents & Carers to support your child to master their times tables in and out of order.

The expectation is for Year 3s to know their x2, x5, x10, x3, x4 and x8 times tables by the end of year 3 and the Year 4s to know all of their times tables x2 - x12 by June/July this year.

To practise: little and often is the best way forward, such as chanting tables when walking to and from school or when travelling in the car, or you could even make some flashcards.

There are websites children can go on for extra multiplication / timestable practise (click the links) such as Hit The Button, and the popular football challenge game – Penalty Kicks.

Another useful website dedicated to timestable gives you the opportunity to practise individual tables, and also has a 'Multiplication Tables Check' area with a ‘mock’ MTC.

TTRS has personalised games that match the children's current timestable knowledge as well as games that cover all of the timestables. It also has a ‘mock’ MTC called Soundcheck (that year 4's may want to use for a bit of extra practise!)
