Trophy Room

We are very proud that we have achieved a number of national accreditations at Mundy C of E Junior School. These accreditations acknowledge the excellent achievements of our school and also shows that we go that extra mile to ensure that our children get the very best start to their educational career.

Eco-School Green Flag

Eco-Schools is a seven step framework that thousands of schools, nurseries and colleges around the world use to introduce, manage and complete environmental actions in their organisation and local community. Uniquely, the Seven Steps aim to place young people at the heart of these environmental actions. This approach engages, motivates and empowers young people to care for our planet now and throughout their lifetimes.

In July 2023 we achieved our 9th Green Flag with Merit! Thanks to the hard work of our wonderful Children's Action Team.

BERT

We have achieved the Bronze Standard for the Building Effective Relationships Together Award!

School Games Award

The main criteria for achieving the School Games Mark award can be split into four categories for which we always strive our hardest to achieve.

Participation. How many children within our schools participate in sporting activities, including lunchtime clubs, inter-school competitions such as our wonderful Sports Days and our multitude of after school clubs.

Competition. As it says, how many children take part in our extra-curricular competitions. We strive to play sports as accessible as possible in our school and competitions are one of the ways we do this. We truly love getting to coach different sports and take children to different competitions all whilst watching their enthusiasm grow.

Workforce. This may sound a little strange to hear in a school environment but just like our school parliament helps govern our school we also enjoy the help of our sports leaders. These children help us maintain our equipment and recruit, train and encourage others to participate in different sports.

Clubs. How our school links together with the community around us in a sporting way. We have close links with the William Gregg Leisure Centre for our swimming lessons and are frequent participants in the local Gregg Cup at Heanor Town. We are always aiming to try and develop closer links with the sporting clubs around our local community to provide more opportunities to our children.

Today the school was awarded a silver for participation in over 30 competitions last year.
